Two weeks ago, DataXu joined TUGG (Technology Underwriting Greater Good) for their annual tech day of service here in Boston, Tech Gives Back. This is the third year of Tech Gives Back, which boasts 1000+ tech industry volunteers working throughout the Boston metro area at 30+ sites.
DataXu was an early proponent of TUGG and has participated in Tech Gives Back since the beginning. It’s an event the team looks forward to every year! More than 20 of our Boston-based team pitched in to volunteer at Mather Elementary, which is the oldest public school in North America.
The team staffed a science fair helping kids understand different scientific principles with fun, hands-on experiments. They were shown the impact of an oil spill, the chemical reactions that make ice cream and the ways that archeologists dig for fossils. Following the science fair fun, the team also helped out with a number of other projects including distribution of school supplies and painting.
As our roots here at DataXu are based in science, it was great for the team to promote scientific principles to the kids at Mather, especially right in the community where a big portion of our team lives and works. Check out some shots of the team in action below!
