DataXu was a proud sponsor of the 2016 Mobile Marketing Association CEO & CMO Summit at the Fairmont Mission Inn in Sonoma, California in July.
The MMA’s annual CEO and CMO event brings together C-suite leaders and top industry influencers from innovative companies such as Frito-Lay, Allstate, Audi, Campbell’s, T-Mobile, Domino’s, J&J, Facebook and SAP. The MMA’s two-day executive think tank event is designed to showcase mobile strategies that have both successfully reached consumers and delivered significant ROI for a brand.
The event kicked off with three inspirational case studies: Domino’s, Frito-Lay and T-Mobile. Dennis Maloney, Vice President and Chief Digital Officer of Domino’s, spoke onstage about the digital transformation he helped implement at the pizza brand years ago. The Domino’s brand used to be known for a less-than-gourmet product and was experiencing rapidly declining sales. Under Maloney’s leadership, the brand re-invented itself as “an e-commerce company that sells pizza, which now attributes 50% of U.S. sales coming through its digital ordering channels.” Domino’s successfully pioneered an online ordering system and leveraged mobile capabilities to a degree unmatched by its competitors to this day.
Attendees also heard from MMA Board Member, Tom Daly (Group Director, Global Connections, The Coca Cola Company) on the MMA’s industry-wide research initiative called SMoX. The SMoX initiative was designed to quantify the value of mobile and help clients maximize their mobile investment. The ongoing results of SMoX will be published within the next month for MMA members to view.
DataXu’s Senior Vice President, NAM Sales Brian Atwood, moderated a roundtable during the event titled “Is Mobile The Future Of TV?” During the roundtable, marketers at Audi, Campbell’s, Nestle, ESPN and eSurance contributed their valuable perspectives to a frank discussion about fragmented Millennial mobile usage patterns and multi-device viewing habits.
