Looking back at dmexco 2014: Marketing enters a new dimension

Three weeks have passed since the doors to dmexco, Europe’s largest digital marketing conference, were shut for another year. It was a record breaking year for the dmexco team as the event attracted over 31,000 attendees, 800 exhibitors, and around 400 industry speakers. In some ways this expansion is also a reflection of the rapid growth of the online advertising industry in Europe, now valued at €27.3billion.

The two days spent at dmexco always fly by in a flurry of meetings, keynotes, seminars, networking parties and lots of walking around in a quest to find good food and the best branded goodies. To capture the spirit and buzz of the event for those that didn’t manage to attend, and for those that just want to reminisce for a few minutes, we’ve produced a short round up video. Our General Manager of Europe, Sacha Berlik also shares his thoughts about dmexco, how the digital industry is changing and what the future of marketing might look like.

One of the key announcements made during the conference was from the IAB Europe, as they revealed that programmatic media spend in Europe grew by 111% from €0.98 billion in 2012 to €2.08 billion in 2013. They estimate that 75% of display will be sold programmatically by 2017 with mobile and video fuelling this. That’s only 2 years away! Are you ready? If you would like to discuss the benefits of adopting a programmatic approach to marketing, contact us today to see how we can help.

Bring on dmexco 2015. It will be bigger and better than ever. We can’t wait!
