Today, meet Amit Pal, who was DataXu India’s first employee! With a Bachelor’s from IIT and Masters from USC, Amit choose to return to India to join a fledgling eCommerce start-up which is now one of the top 3 eCommerce platforms. Almost exactly one year ago, Amit took the plunge with DataXu, had his architect wife resign, packed their bags and headed down south from Delhi to Bangalore!
Explain your role at DataXu. What do you do?
I am a developer in the real time bidding team at DataXu. As part of the team I have been working on the implementation of the algorithm, which determines the pace at which the campaign spends its budget during its lifetime.
How did you land at DataXu?
I was looking to relocate to Bangalore, that’s when I applied at DataXu. Prior to that I was working with the Indian eCommerce company Snapdeal.com and that was my first rendezvous with big, real time systems. I have followed a fairly standard education path with a bachelors and masters degree.
What excites you the most about DataXu’s future?
I think the way DataXu is expanding its customer base and segment, it is just a matter of time before DataXu will be the number one choice of every advertising and brand management agency.
