Last month, we shared that DataXu CEO and co-founder Mike Baker was nominated for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award—and we are proud to announce that he was named a winner at the New England regional Gala held June 26th at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston.

The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

This prestigious business award acknowledges Mike’s lifelong accomplishments and DataXu’s incredible growth and success.

According to Mike, “While it’s fun & humbling to be singled out for an award, the truth is that building a company is a team sport, not a solo sport.  In my unrehearsed and impromptu remarks on being called up to the stage, I spoke about my co-founders, amazing management staff, our investors, and about the entire team of Xu Keepers around the world – this is your award for helping to build a great company!”

As a serial entrepreneur, Mike believes that success in business, and in life, is based on defining and upholding exemplary personal values.  Mike embodies DataXu’s core values: being smart, trustworthy, respectful, innovative, dedicated and empowered (also known as “STRIDE”). This recognition by such a prestigious organization is a powerful reinforcement of these values, which are shared across our organization in everything we do.

From the 25 regional program winners, national winners are selected at the Strategic Growth Forum happening this November in Palm Springs.

A great company requires a strong corporate purpose and commitment to shared core values.  Here at DataXu, we’re lucky to have our purpose and values stem from one of the best CEOs in the business in Mike. We can’t think of a better way to start of the third quarter of an already stellar year! Congratulations Mike!
