A Day In The Life of a XuKeeper: Hong

Meet Hong Chung, an Ad Operations Associate located in our Boston office. She’s a 1.5 year veteran of the Xu, and if she wasn’t working here she would definitely be a stylist to the stars.

How do you explain your work to your friends/family? It’s like mad men but with more Excel and less old fashioneds.

How did you land at DataXu? I double majored in Marketing and Information Systems and found ad-tech to be such a great intersection between my studies. Also, the culture here was a huge selling point.

DataXu’s core values are: Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Trust and Customer Obsession… the value that resonates with you most is…. Collaboration – The people I work with are phenomenal and are always quick to pitch in to solve a problem or inspire out-of-the-box thinking.

If you weren’t doing this for a living, what might you have ended up doing instead? Kim Kardashian’s Personal Assistant, just kidding… Maybe not, I love fashion so I always thought that could have been an alternative career path. Luckily, the Xu has fully embraced all of my avant-garde capes, hats, and other fashion accessories.

What would you say is your greatest strength that translates to the workplace? I’d say I’m a pretty gregarious person and will strike up conversation with just about anybody. Often times, it leads to conversations with very smart people within the company, and I end up learning things I might never have known.

What is your life motto? “Can I Uber there?”

Favorite perk of working at DataXu? The people… and catered lunch Wednesdays!

Hong is the life of the party!

Always the life of the party!

Favorite snack in the DataXu kitchen? String Cheese

Favorite DataXu memory? Cliché, but really there’s too many to count. Ad-Ops Appreciation Day has a fond memory in my heart, though.

If you could have coffee with anyone, living or dead, who would it be? Let’s skip coffee, I’d like to enjoy a steak with Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada.

What is a fun fact about you? I clocked over 4,000 miles in Uber rides in 2015. I’m looking to top that number in 2016, I think I’m pacing hot and will deliver in full on that hope.
